What did God say about Cain's deed? In Genesis 4:10 God said, "The voice of your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground." God knew Cain had killed Abel, for He knows and sees everything we do. The evils men commit call out to God for justice. This is true of all sins, but especially the sin of shedding innocent blood.
Psalm 106:38 says, in particular, that the killing of innocent "children" pollutes the land with blood. Genesis 25:21,22 states that unborn babies are "children." So how does God view our land when 1 1/2 million unborn babies are legally slain here every year?
Consider the procedure called "partial birth abortion." This procedure is done late in pregnancy. The unborn baby, all but the head, is removed from the womb, the doctor punctures the head, sucks out the brain, crushes the skull, then removes the baby. So gruesome is this practice that the United States Congress recently passed a law banning it. But our courts seek to prevent the law from being enforced, thereby allowing this shedding of innocent blood to continue.
If the innocent blood of one man shed upon the ground called out to God for justice, so that the perpetrator had to be punished, how much more the innocent blood of these unborn babies! Their blood cries out against every politician and every judge who votes or rules to continue the killing, just as surely as Abel's blood cried out against Cain.
