Officials in Jasper, Alberta, Canada, have put up signs warning people “Do not let moose lick your car.”
“They’re obsessed with salt,” Park spokesman, Steve Young, told CNN. “…now they realize they can also get road salt that splashes onto cars.”
Apparently, people park on the roadside hoping to see a moose. But if the moose get close enough to lick the salt off the cars, they may begin to gather around the roads and cause accidents.
“The best way to stop a moose from coming close to your car is simply driving away when you see them approaching,” Young added.
James 5:13 – “Each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.”
Like the moose who get a taste of salt on cars, the taste of sin can put us in danger spiritually.
To avoid becoming an alcoholic, just don’t drink. Stay away from the bars, even if you don’t intend to drink. Avoid the temptation.
To avoid becoming a tobacco addict, don’t start smoking.
To avoid becoming a drug addict, avoid all recreational drugs, including marijuana.
To avoid becoming addicted to pornography, don’t start watching indecent pictures. Put controls on your Internet, cell phone, and TV and have your parents or wife control the password.
To avoid sexual promiscuity, stay away from wild parties, dances, and sexually suggestive recreation. Avoid the temptation.
1 Corinthians 10:12 – Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. Realize that none of us are immune from the Devil’s devious devices.
2 Timothy 2:22 – Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace... Determine to flee when Satan entices you. Don’t allow him to get a foothold. Get away.
Romans 13:14 – But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
As someone said, “When you flee temptation, don’t leave a forwarding address.”
So, don’t let a moose lick your car and “do not give place to the devil.” (Ephesians 4:27)
