The Family Reading Booklist
Reviews of Wholesome Books for Children and Young People

by David E. Pratte

This booklet reviews about 400 library books for children and young people of various age groups. Each review evaluates books according to Bible (Christian) standards for moral and spiritual content. For example, it tells you if a book mentions improper moral conduct, such as drinking, profanity, smoking, sexual suggestiveness, etc. Positive spiritual or moral qualities are favorably mentioned, such as honesty, hard work, kindness, family values, respect for God or parents, etc.

The main purpose for the booklist is to help parents choose good books for their children to read for pleasure or for families to read together. It can also be used to help select reading materials for regular school work.
